Shoppers got the 'pawfect' look and helped animals in need when Brook Street salon stylists Rachel, Louise, James, Leanne, Pauline and Alex set up in the windows of the animal charity shop on
6 December offering cut-price snips.
We raised a fabulous £235 which will all go to helping sick and needy animals at The Blue Cross. The first to go for the chop was Lola, the three-legged Chinese crested Chihuahua crossbreed dog belonging to shop manager Hayley.
In return for a £10 donation to the charity shoppers received a top class Hair Management cut and a gorgeous goodie-bag which included a pet shampoo from the Paul Mitchell range. Business was so brisk that the stylists ran out of appointments and had to turn shoppers away.
Cat lover and salon owner, Stephen Morley, came up with the fundraiser after seeing the work of the charity in the area. "We are close neighbours of The Blue Cross shop and we see the work that goes on there so I thought it would be a great way to raise money for animals in need this Christmas. We’d like to thank everyone who supported the salon and the Blue Cross plus a special thank you to our super stylists who worked so hard both getting it ready and on the day".
