The Rule of Six for Curly Hair
You know those memes that ‘Great hair doesn’t happen by chance, it happens by appointment’. They missed the bit about appointment and an on point after care regime.
We’re convinced that if you follow the rule of six, you’ll always have your hair in the best possible condition and looking fabulous.
Our resident curls and perms expert, Louise, explains her super six for keeping your curls – whether they’re natural or permed – in the best possible condition.
Start with the Moroccanoil Hydrating Shampoo and Moroccanoil Hydrating Conditioner. They’re a lovely pair that will leave your hair feeling nourished and manageable.
But if your hair is really dry or damaged, it might need something more intense, so go for the Moisture Repair Shampoo and Moisture Repair Conditioner. These will mend broken bonds to help restore your natural moisture and shine.
I’d follow this up with a Treatment. Like most of the team, I do love the Olaplex treatment, but for permed hair or hair that has been over bleached or straightened I recommend the L’ANZA Trauma Treatment.
Speaking from personal experience – as well as that of my clients – it really can transform your hair and make it strong and healthy.
When it comes to styling, I always start by combing a few drops of Moroccanoil Oil through the hair. It’s like a treatment that detangles and reduces frizz.
Follow up with a pump of the Moroccanoil Curl Cream. It’s brilliant for defining curls and creating a soft touchable finish.
Once you’ve blow-dried your hair, I like to use another drop of Moroccanoil Oil. I find it softens it again. Even if you’ve used other oils in the past and found they leave your hair greasy, I really think you should try this because your curls will love it.
Finish with a Moroccanoil Illuminating Hairspray. Sadly, one of the downsides of curls is that it isn’t usually as shiny as straight hair. I love the Moroccanoil hairspray because you get hold, but the hair can still move and you also get a lovely shine.
Louise says: “Curls really do need a little extra TLC to keep them hydrated and manageable. With this fabulous combination, you’ll get beautiful soft touchable curls.”
