Top Tips for Hiding Your Roots Between Appointments
‘How do I hide my roots between appointments to the salon?’ That’s a question our clients are always asking us.
The good news is we can always come up with a personalised plan to suit your hair and your budget. We recommend starting with a face-to-face conversation so a stylist can look and feel your hair, ask the right questions and come up with a colour plan that’s going to work for you. That’s why why we offer complimentary consultations. You can book yours here.
But when it comes to hiding those roots – or masking your grey hairs – these are some of the best options to help you manage your re-growth:
More regular colour appointments
On average, hair grows about a centimetre per month, so if you have a dramatic colour change, or have grey hairs coming through, they are going to start to show after about four weeks. If you don’t want visible re-growth, and your budget allows, more regular salon visits are the answer.
Moving to balayage
One of the reasons balayage at Hair Management is so popular is because it’s a low maintenance alternative to foil highlights. There are no block lines, but a gradual shift in colour that means most balayage clients can spread their appointments a little.
Grey blending services
If grey re-growth your problem, it may be time to re-think your hair colour and go a little lighter. We’ll use spatula highlights for a grey blending technique that creates a multi-tonal look which can be the end goal or part of a journey to transition to grey.
Go for Color Wow
We stock an awesome product called Color Wow, which is perfect for hiding roots during those last couple of weeks before your colour refresh appointment.
Color Wow is coloured mineral powder that’s applied to your roots using a brush. It’s packaged in a compact, is really easy to use and just the thing to keep in your handbag for when you need it.
We love it because it doesn’t stain your scalp, the colour doesn’t run when it’s raining and it doesn’t flake away. It simply covers your roots in a colour that blends with the rest of your hair colour.
Because Color Wow is only removed when you wash and condition your hair, you don’t need to use much of it, so it will last you for months and months.
